Monaco sign Traore from Anzhi

0

Monaco have announced the signing of Lacina Traore from Anzhi Makhachkala. The transfer sum was not made public but the player has signed a contract that will end in the summer of 2018.

The Ivorian striker was signed by Anzhi for a reported  €18 million in 2012. The 23 years old forward was one of the few stars that remained with the club after owner Kerimov decided to reduce the budget and change the strategy of the club.

It is believed that Traore will not play for Monaco until next season as the French giants are looking to loan him until the end of the season. West Ham are in top position for a loan move but there are other options too.

Monaco are set to strengthen the squad for next season when they will most probably play in Champions League as they are second in Ligue One, three points behind rivals from PSG. Currently a top priced 15/2 with BetVictor to win Ligue One this season, they remain with an outside chance of taking top honours if they can string together a few decent results on the bounce.

AVB sacked by Tottenham

Andre Villas-Boas was sacked by Tottenham after the Liverpool game. Tottenham suffered a heavy defeat 0-5 at White Hart Lane against Liverpool.

But that was not the biggest defeat of the season as Manchester City have won with 6-0 against them.

The London club are on 7th position, 8 points behind leaders Arsenal and 5 behind 4th place occupied by Manchester City.

Even if they brought players worth more than €100 millions this summer it looks like Bale is still missed. Most of the players have not adapted with the conditions and the new club. The relations between the Portuguese and Tottenham owner started to deteriorate a few weeks ago.

The assistant will take control of the team until a new coach will be hired. The club has announced that an experienced coach will come.

Will Suarez leave Liverpool?

Luis Suarez is one of the best strikers in the World but at the same time one of the most wanted players in Europe. Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG are some of the top teams that want the 26 years old forward. Arsenal tried to sign him also last summer but Liverpool rejected all the offers.

Latest news from Spain suggest that Real will make an official offer next month when the transfer period will be opened. The Madrid giants are willing to pay up to €72 millions to take the Uruguayan star to Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have sold Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli last summer and the only central forward solutions is Benzema. Liverpool will try to keep their star man but his future will probably depend on Champions League qualification. Liverpool have big chances of finishing in the top four this season.

Brendan Rodgers declared that Suarez is more than happy at Liverpool and that he will not leave this season.

Will Tottenham sign Shaw?

Tottenham were one of the biggest spenders last summer but the things are still not going as good as they planned. Tottenham spent over €100 millions on Cristian Eriksen, Erik Lamela, Vlad Chiriches, Etienne Capoue, Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli and Paulinho.

Anyway the London club have lost their star Gareth Bale who left for Real Madrid for an impressive sum of £80 millions.

After 12 games Tottenham are out of European cup places, 9th in the premier league standings, at 8 points behind first place occupied by Arsenal and 2 points behind 4th place which would assure a Champions League qualification spot.

Despite having a numerous squad Villas-Boas is forced to improvise at left back. Danny Rose is injured and the Portuguese manager is forced to play with Vertonghen in that position.

Villas-Boas declared recently that Tottenham will not buy a new defender this winter even if Danny Rose will be out for a longer period. Anyway there are rumors that suggest that Tottenham are interested in signing Southampton wonderkid Luke Shaw.

The 18 years old defender made 28 appearances last season and another 10 this year. His performances could not go unnoticed by the big clubs. Chelsea are also interested in signing the player but Tottenham are in pole position right now.

Delio Rossi was sacked by Sampdoria after only 11 months. The 52 years old manager arrived at Sampdoria last December but failed to live up the expectations.

Francesco Pedone, the youth coach, will be in charge of the team until a new coach will be hired. Sinisa Mihajlovic and Zdenek Zeman have the biggest chances of arriving at Luigi Ferraris.

The defeat against the rivals from Fiorentina was decisive for the Italian. Sampdoria lost 2-1 at Fiorentina and they are on a relegation position at only 3 points ahead last place occupied by Chievo. Sassuolo, the first team above relegation zone have 1 point ahead Sampdoria.
