Adrian Mutu recovered from injury elbow and is set to start in the Fiorentina’s attack alongside Gilardino.
Mutu suffered an injury while training with the Romanian national team.
Fiorentina will start the Serie A season against rivals Juventus on Sunday .

Fiorentina and Juventus finished forth and third respectively and qualified both in the Uefa Champions League groups. Both teams were out of top European football due to the financial problems and later the calciopolli scandal.
Both teas will miss some players, Gianluca Comotto, Riccardo Montolivo and Martin Jorgensen are injuried and Semioli suspended from Fiorentina respectively Trezeguet injuried and Sissoko suspended.
Mutu had a perfect season last year scoring 17 Serie A goals and 8 in Uefa Cup. Mutu was closed to Roma this summer, the clubs already agreed on his transfer. The one who stop the deal was coach Cesare Prandelli who considers Mutu a key player of Fiorentina’s squad.
Mutu expressed once again his love for Florence and the respect for supporters. Fiorentina offered Mutu a new contract.

Barcelona did not win any trophy in the last two years and due to that they decide to make massive changes.
First they begun with coach Frank Rijkaard wich was replaced with Guardiola. They also sold the important names from Barcelona’s squad like Ronaldinho, Deco, Thuram , Zambrota, players that Guardiola considered that they somehow lost their motivation for Barcelona.

Also Eto’o was on the move but finally the player will stay. The new team will be constructed around players like Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Bojan, Henry.
Barcelona spent the biggest amount of money in transfers this year with 90 millions euros, the next team is Liverpool with 62 millions.
Barcelona bought important players like Daniel Alves, Keita, Hleb, Caceres, Pique.
On the other part, Real bought only Rafael van der Vaart, but they were also after a striker. The first option was Ronaldo from Manchester but finally Ronaldo will remain for at least one year at Manchester.
The other options were David Villa from Valencia and Huntelaar from Ajax. David Villa expressed his wish to stay with Valencia but there are still chances due to the financial problems that Valencia are facing.
The other important teams that strengthened are Villareal, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla.
Now it remains to see how which team made the best acquisitions.

Ronaldo wins best player of Champions League 2007-2008

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo won the best player of Champions League for 2007-2008 award. Ronaldo had a perfect season with Manchester last year scoring 8 goals in Champions League and 31 in Premier League, competitions that he also won.

He received also the best forward award by Uefa. The other winners were Petr Cech for best goalkeeper, John Terry as best defender and Frank Lampard for the best midfielder.

Ronaldo was chosen the best Premier League player and received the golden boot after scoring an impressive 31 goals.

Certainly he will be also a candidate for all major trophies next year. Ronaldo decides to stay with Manchester United for at least another year, despite all Real Madrid attempts to take him to Bernabeu. Ronaldo admitted that his dream is to play in the future for Real Madrid.

Ronaldo is currently recovering from an ankle injury.

Roma signed another forward

Roma was looking for a striker whole summer, and there were a lot of names on the shortlist. Their first option was Adrian Mutu from Fiorentina who was supposed to be unsatisfied with the contract at Fiorentina.

Finally Fiorentina ended the speculations and announced that Mutu had signed a new contract and that the player is not for sale.

Roma moved quickly and signed Baptista from Real Madrid. Roma reported to be interesting in signing another forward due to the medicall problems of Totti and Vucinic and the departure of Mancini who moved to rivalls Inter.

Menez, Suazo and Malouda were on the shortlist for Roma. The official site of Monaco announced that Roma and Monaco reached an agreement.

Menez is one of the most talented youngster from Eurome and he was many times associated with Zidane. Menez was the youngest hattrick scorer from french league, scored 34 goals in the last two seasons and made the step to France B.

There were several important clubs from Europe which were interested in signing Menez, the most notable Inter and Manchester.
