First trophy for Liverpool in the last six years

This weekend Liverpool have won their first trophy in the last six years. The Reds where in the League Cup final and they profited from this chance.

The game was played at Wembley stadium against Cardiff City. Liverpool won at penalty shout-outs as the game was still tied after extra time.

Cardiff started the game better and opened the score in the first half. Martin Skrtel leveled the score in the second half and the game ended 1-1. In the extra time both teams scored once and at the end of the extra-time the score was 2-2.

This win could bring confidence into the Liverpool team and at the same time more hunger for success. Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard expressed their delight after winning the trophy after so much time.

Liverpool beat teams like Chelsea and Manchester City to reach the final.
